On the 3rd August the Royal British Legion launched it’s national ‘Thank You’ Campaign to significant media interest.
This was timed to be symbolically on the 100th Anniversary of the start of the allies 100 day ‘big push’ which saw our forces roll the enemy back from the territory they’d captured, leading to their surrender and the Armistice on November 11th.
Now the observant ones amongst you may have seen the logo from this new RBL campaign carried on our website and all our literature from way back in February and that we undertook our recent 36 visits to come back the day before the RBL’s major launch. These were not coincidences.
I’m pleased to report that the RBL’s Head of Remembrance has highlighted our village project as an example of ‘national best practice’ from the outset and that if you go to the major UK website they launched on Friday (just put ‘thank you campaign’ in your search engine) and look at ‘key partners’ you will see ‘Snettisham 45’ standing alongside and with equal billing to national institutions such as M and S, P and O, Cadburys, England RFU, Sainsburys etc…… we think that’s not a bad accolade for a small, West Norfolk Village such as ours.
Remember, you can become an ‘active supporter’ of what we are doing either by getting your business involved or making a personal donation to the two great military charities we are supporting (Scotty’s Little Soldiers and the Poppy Appeal) in honour of the 45 – the quick, easy and secure links are at the top of your screen.
Time is running out to do so as, as the RBL reminds us, we are now inside 100 days from the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War 1.
